Juneteenth Celebration
Freedom Through the Arts
Thursday, June 19, 2025
12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Arts | Theatre 202
202 North Main St, Lexington, NC
Join us for a day of celebration, culture, and creativity!
Juneteenth is a momentous day in history. On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved African Americans were informed of their freedom—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day celebrates freedom, resilience, and the power of the Black community to transcend oppression.

Join Arts Davidson County, in partnership with Anything for Our Youth and Black Butterfly Network, as we celebrate Juneteenth through art, culture, and community! This event will feature live performances, a youth DJ showcase, a powerful step team performance, the Freedom Mural Project, and a marketplace highlighting Black-owned businesses and artists.

Art has long been at the heart of the Black liberation movement—serving as a voice for the unheard and a space for freedom of expression. Join us as we celebrate Black culture, creativity, and the ongoing journey of liberation.

Are You a Black Artist or Business Owner?
We invite Black-owned businesses and artists to showcase their work at the Juneteenth Celebration. Whether you create visual art, fashion, music, literature, or cultural goods, we want you to be part of this vibrant celebration.
