Ongoing Programs & Initiatives

For many years, Arts Davidson County (ADC) has been a driving force behind annual programs that celebrate artistic expression and creativity.

Our countywide Student Art Exhibits and SMARTS Arts in Education Program are instrumental in fostering an appreciation for the arts within our county.  Along with these, ADC has orchestrated temporary art exhibitions at various locations across the county to engage communities and promote artistic expression.

In 2022, ADC teamed up with fellow nonprofit art organizations to establish Arts | Theatre 202 (@ 202) on Main Street in Lexington, NC. Arts | Theatre 202 offers a public social venue for exploring diverse perspectives through visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, and arts education. ADC aims to leverage the space @ 202 for the development, enhancement, and promotion of the arts in Davidson County.

We are dedicated to crafting cultural and educational programs, activities, and opportunities while offering financial support and resources to member and community art organizations.

Additionally, we strive to serve as a community resource for arts information and referrals, advocating for the arts at the local, state, and national levels.

These programs, events, and art exhibitions contribute to raising awareness in our communities about the importance of art to us all. In education, the arts play a crucial role in boosting critical thinking, creativity, and innovation, fostering improved learning skills in subjects like math, science, language, and social studies. In communities, the arts promote civic and cultural partnerships, encourage cultural diversity, build economic bases, and provide beautification.  The arts play a vital role in society. We hope you’ll join us at some of these programs and events.
