Submission Guidelines

Arts Davidson County invites artists to submit work for "Awakening: A Celebration of Growth & Renewal," a juried spring exhibition exploring themes of rebirth, transformation, and nature’s renewal.

 

Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting.

Submission Requirements

1. Eligibility & Entry Fees:​

   • Free for Arts Davidson County Artist Advocate Members

   • Non-members: $20 for up to 3 pieces, plus $5 for each additional piece (max of 7)

   • Open to all artists working in visual media (painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, ceramics, fiber art, photography, etc.).

2. Submission Guidelines

   • 2D Artwork: Must be ready to hang with a wired backing (no sawtooth hangers). Maximum dimensions, including mounting, are 36” x 48”.

   • 3D Artwork: Must not exceed 24” x 24” x 24”, with a maximum weight of 50 lbs. Pieces must be stable for display.

   • All work must be available for sale. Arts Davidson County retains a 30% commission on sales (25% for members).

   • Works not meeting these guidelines may not be accepted.

Submission Process

1. How to Submit:

   • Email high-resolution images of your work to amanda@artsdavidsoncounty.org.

   • Include the following in your submission:

     • Title, medium, and dimensions for each piece.

     • Artist statement for each submitted work.

     • Contact information (name, phone, and email).

2. Number of Submissions:

   • Artists may submit up to 7 pieces for consideration.

3. Deadline:

   • Submissions must be received by Monday, March 10, 2025.

Important Dates

• Submission Deadline: Monday, March 10, 2025

• Artwork Drop-off: Wednesday, March 12, 2025

• Opening Reception: Monday, March 17 5:30pm at Arts | Theatre 202

• Exhibition Duration: March 17 – May 26, 2025

• Artwork Pick-up: May 28, 2025

Additional Information

Sales

• All submitted works must be for sale. Arts Davidson County retains a 25% commission for members and a 30% commission for non-members on all sold pieces.

Liability

• While we handle all artwork with the utmost care, Arts Davidson County is not responsible for any damage incurred during transport or exhibition.

Gallery Hours

• The gallery is open to the public on:

• Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays | 11 AM – 3 PM

• For added convenience, private viewings are available by appointment, ensuring flexibility for visitors with different schedules or specific needs.

Volunteer Opportunities:

• We invite members of the Arts Davidson County community to volunteer in our gallery during the exhibition. Your time and effort will help ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for visitors while contributing to the success of the event. community members to consider volunteering in our gallery during the exhibition.
